BRP registration: Amsterdam
If you stay longer than four months, you register in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at the municipality within five days of arriving. You need a valid passport or ID and your rental contract. Registration gives you a citizen service number (BSN). Ask the landlord in writing whether you may register at the address before you pay anything: without it, you cannot register.
